Rolex Explorer 1655
In 1971, Rolex introduced the Explorer 1655, the first version of the Rolex Explorer II, specifically designed for cave explorers who required accurate timekeeping in low-light conditions. Presented in a 39mm stainless steel case, the model features a unique 24-hour black matte dial with a bold orange arrow-shaped 24-hour hand and pencil-style hands. Powered by the Calibre 1575, the Explorer 1655 is a highly durable, functional and reliable timepiece which actors and professional athletes have promoted on several occasions. Today, it is considered one of the most collectable vintage Rolex models appreciated by collectors for its historical significance.
