Rolex is always tight-lipped about their annual releases. But this year, some watch nerds managed to scrape their website and leak the 2025 novelties way ahead of time, and we’re glad they did!
If there’s anything Rolex has done in the past couple of years, it would be to surprise the folks with their creativity and new technical solutions, like the major shakeup of the Datejust dial colours in 2021. So, we know that despite the manufacturer’s vastness and completeness, it is cleverly agile. And that is what we see again at Watches and Wonders 2025.
First Thoughts..
Novelty and Innovation is at its peak. The biggest highlight of this year is the Oyster Perpetual ‘Land-Dweller’, and it deserves to be so. It’s not very often that The Crown introduces a brand-new collection, but when it does, it surely claims the spot. Other than this, the WW25 spotlights a wide array of bracelet designs and dial colours.
From the Land-Dweller’s absolutely gorgeous Flat Jubilee bracelet to the Perpetual 1908’s new elegant seven-piece link Settimo bracelet, they have demonstrated a striking diversity in design among the key models.
Thirdly, a new wave of colour and materials captures Rolex's vibrant creative spirit. The Oyster Perpetual features light, fresh, pastel dial tones alongside the rich, intense hues of Tiger’s Eye and vivid lacquer tones. Rolex has even manufactured its PVD-coloured dials to present the most beautiful ombré effect.
There’s just too much happening here.
Let’s run through all of them below.
All New Rolex Releases at Watches and Wonders 2025
1. The New Oyster Perpetual ‘Land-Dweller’
After conquering the sky and sea, Rolex finally offers a watch for the earthbound—the Oyster Perpetual “Land-Dweller”. Simply put, this new collection is a tribute to history with a vision for the future.
The Rolex Land-Dweller collection encompasses some of the biggest developments in decades, with a revolutionary mechanism, a unique design, and an integrated bracelet that is both nostalgic and futuristic. With the Land-Dweller, Rolex enters the highly competitive, sports-chic watch category, which was so far dominated by AP’s Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus.
The Rolex Land-Dweller is available in two sizes—36mm and 40mm—and in three precious materials: Everose Gold, White Rolesor (steel and white gold), and 950 Platinum. The rose gold and white Rolesor models have a white dial, and the platinum model has an ice-blue dial, all with a beautiful honeycomb texture motif.
The new case is just 9.7mm thick, making the watch significantly thin. It is approximately 20% thinner than any average Datejust, with sharp edges and straight side lines. Surprisingly, the watch evokes an old-style essence often associated with the late 1970s Oysterquartz. But the story has a modern twist here.

The Land-Dweller introduces many ‘firsts’ for Rolex. Rolex transformed the 80-year-old Jubilee bracelet to create the new ‘Flat Jubilee’, featuring an integrated system. It draws inspiration from the 1977 Rolex Oysterquartz design, or maybe Rolex wanted to quench the thirst of those yearning for a new aesthetic. Whatever it is, the Land-Dweller has certainly made an impression.
Beyond its construction, this new model has a sapphire crystal exhibition case back, revealing the incredibly thin automatic Calibre 7135 movement. No points for guessing: The Calibre 7135 is an entirely new type of high-frequency calibre, meaning that the Land-Dweller will be more accurate than any piece in the brand’s catalogue.
The Land-Dweller also introduces the ‘Dynapulse’ escapement, a mechanism that leverages power to the movement and is designed to be more durable and precise. Overall, the new Land-Dweller is a true milestone in Rolex’s history.

2. The 1908 Perpetual Gets A Gold Settimo Bracelet
The Perpetual 1908 is Rolex’s take on classic men’s dress watches. While the platinum version gets quite the hype from collectors, the yellow gold Rolex 1908 was somewhat overlooked. Rolex releases a new solid-gold bracelet for the 1908 models at Watches and Wonders 2025, ensuring you pay attention.
Rolex hasn’t exactly been a bracelet pioneer, but the introduction of the all-new “Settimo” bracelet exclusively for 1908 is definitely going to change that narrative. It has a nice brick-like design comprising seven links running across it. Five of the seven central pieces are the same size and the outer two taper along the bracelet’s length.

Made of solid yellow gold, this new ‘Settimo’ bracelet is intensely elegant, supple, and light on the wrist. Fitted with a concealed Crownclasp, it presents a design reminiscent of the jewellery-style bracelets found on vintage watches.
There aren’t many dress watches with such a classic gold bracelet. With the launch of the Settimo bracelet, Rolex is digging into its roots as a notable maker of fine dress watches in the 1950s when they weren’t even a thing.

3. Bold Dial Upgrade To The GMT-Master II
Rolex unveiled two new versions of the GMT-Master II, and both are fittingly ready to party.
The first version is a bright ‘Green Ceramic’ dial for the 2022-released Rolex GMT-Master II Ref. 126729VTNR, commonly referred to as the ‘Sprite’. The previous Sprite was made in stainless steel, and this one comes in polished 18ct white gold.
This is the very first GMT-Master to swap the previous black dial for a bright green ceramic one, a first for the brand, making it even more appealing. Doesn’t it remind us of the Submariner ‘Hulk’? The green dial in this model perfectly complements the green portion (daytime half) of the day/night Cerachrom bezel, ensuring a perfect match.

The second version is an eccentric and dynamic ‘Tiger Iron’ Edition. Rolex released this new spin on the rose gold Root Beer model Ref. 126715CHNR and yellow gold GMT-Master II Ref. 126718GRNR.
Composed of tiger’s eye, silvery hematite, and red jasper, the Tiger Iron uses a stone that highlights golden and orangey tints with flashes of red running throughout. This is the first time Rolex has used this metamorphic rock in its catalogue.
Specifications:
- Models: GMT-Master II Ref. 126729VTNR, 126715CHNR, 126718GRNR
- Size: 40mm
- Material: 18ct White Gold. 18ct Rose Gold/ 18ct Yellow Gold

4. Daytona With A ‘Tiffany-Blue Dial
The iconic Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is bestowed with a new slew of dials that magnify its aura. For example, the yellow gold version gets a green dial, meteorite dials make a comeback to the white and Everose gold, the white gold bracelet Daytona comes with a blue dial option with red accents, and finally, chocolate dials are seen on both versions of the Everose gold Daytona.

But the most significant release is the yellow-gold Daytona Ref. 126518LN with a bright Turquoise dial, which resembles a ‘Tiffany-Blue’ dial or is pretty close to it.
Rolex describes this dial as a magnificent Turquoise blue and black dial. The watch is paired with the rubber Oysterflex bracelet and makes a strong showing across all the models.
Specifications:
- Models: 126518LN
- Size: 40mm
- Material: 18ct Yellow Gold
- Dial: Turquoise Blue & Black (Tiffany-Blue)

5. Oyster Perpetual With Fresh Pastel Dials
It’s good to see that Rolex has finally put a little focus on the Oyster Perpetual line that lays the foundation for the brand’s sports watch design. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual lineup is graced with five new lacquered dials this year: Lavender, Beige, Pistachio, Black and Blue. Celebrate the blend of vibrant lacquering, pastel shades and a smooth matte finish with the new dial hues.
The ‘Lavender’ is unveiled on the Oyster Perpetual 28mm and the Sandy Beige on the Oyster Perpetual 36mm. The Pistachio is presented on the Oyster Perpetual 41mm, whose proportions have been slightly revised with a redesigned case and a slimmer Oysterclasp, making the watch even more harmonious than before.

In addition to the new dial colours, the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 Ref. 134300 replaces the outgoing Ref. 124300.
The lacquered Black and Blue dials replace the old sunburst ‘Bright Black’ and ‘Bright Blue’ hues. Additionally, the Oyster Perpetual with Candy Pink dial is now available in 28mm and 34mm, along with the existing 31mm and 36mm.
These new pastel additions offer a lighter, more relaxed, refreshing aesthetic for Rolex’s time-only model. Regarding movement, the OP 28 is powered by Calibre 2232, and the OP 36 and 41 are both run by Calibre 3230.
At a quick glance, nothing major has changed with the new Oyster Perpetual lineup. The collection is still available in five sizes—28mm, 31mm, 34mm, 36mm, and 41 mm—and, as you’d expect, in stainless steel.
Specifications:
- Models:

6. Bright Green Sky-Dweller In Yellow Gold
For the first time, Rolex releases the Sky-Dweller, combining two of the brand’s most emblematic colours – a bright green sunray-finish dial with an 18ct yellow gold case and bracelet. This combination has been a winning formula for Rolex.

The Rolex Sky-Dweller's exceptional appearance is due to the radiance of the green dial and the fantastic reflection of the gold-fluted bezel and bracelet. The watch continues to offer The Crown's most complicated movement, with a Ring Command bezel and an annual calendar.
Specifications:
- Models: 336938/ 336238
- Size: 42mm
- Material: 18ct Yellow Gold
- Dial: Bright Green
- Bracelet: 18ct Yellow Gold Oyster/Jubilee/ Oysterflex bracelet
- Movement: Calibre 9002
- Power Reserve: 72 hours
- Water Resistance: 100 metres
7. Datejust 31 In Red Diamond-Set Ombré Dial
Joining the trail of Rolex Watches and Wonders 2025 releases is this fiercely elegant Datejust number. The Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31 introduces a bright red ombré dial, further enhanced by a ring of sparkling, brilliant-cut diamond markers. Unlike other traditional ombré dials, this one is PVD-coated.
The dial subtly transitions from deep darkness at its edge to fire at the centre. The sunray finish beautifully complements the watch's 18ct yellow gold.

This Datejust recalls the glory days of the 1980s gem-setting period, when elaborate bracelets, jewels, and unafraid dial colours reigned. As more women appear to prefer small watches with classic styles, this red ombré Datejust 31 in 18ct yellow gold with a diamond-set bezel and a President bracelet is sure to demand attention.
Specifications:
- Models: 278288RBR
- Size: 31mm
- Material: 18ct Yellow Gold
- Dial: Red Ombré set with diamonds
- Bracelet: 18ct Yellow Gold, President
- Movement: Calibre 2236

To End With
Rolex has aptly silenced the naysayers who comment that they do nothing year after year. While the excitement from these novelties is still unfolding, one thing is certain: this has been one of Rolex’s most impressive years. They have given us the ‘Land-Dweller’, a completely new model, a new type of stone dial alongside some fresh new pastel shades, an impressive new escapement, and a new bracelet design.
Overall, we could say that Rolex has catered to all preferences and delivered everything you could ask from the brand this year. This is indeed a big deal for a brand that we know just how slow it is to move on with the trends.
