Ultimate Rolex Submariner Price Guide

rolex submariner price guide

The Rolex Submariner is a watch with legendary status. It is probably one of the most featured Rolex creations in the media due to its durability and design, making it widely popular among collectors, buyers, enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Born as a tool watch in 1953, the Submariner has evolved over the years to become a notable luxury sports watch that has limited availability at retail and spiked prices on the secondary market.

It’s no secret that Rolex watches are expensive, and people consider them as status symbols. And the Submariner is no different. So, how much do you think a Submariner costs? There’s no straightforward answer to this. Moreover, finding out how much a Submariner is can be a minefield for even a seasoned enthusiast.

There’s the brand’s Recommended Retail Price (RRP), and things get even more confusing if you add vintage and discontinued pre-owned Submariner models to the mix.

This comprehensive Rolex Submariner price guide provides pricing details of the current in-production Submariner watches, the vintage references and the discontinued models.

Prices Of The Current Rolex Submariner Models

Numerous upgrades, progressions, and improvements have graced the Submariner’s long life, and Rolex has increased the prices of the models from time to time.Even though Rolex has not added any new model to the Submariner collection since 2020, the prices saw a steep increase. Wondering the price of a Submariner in 2024?

Below, we’ve mentioned the RRP of the in-production Submariner watches from 2024 and their price in the secondary market.

1. Stainless Steel Submariner Prices

Currently, Rolex produces three stainless steel Submariner models: Ref. 124060, Ref. 126610LV, and Ref. 126610LN. All three watches feature the brand’s reliable 41-mm Oyster case, stainless steel Oyster bracelets with the Glidelock diver’s extension clasp, a 300-metre water resistance, and a unidirectional Cerachrom ceramic bezel with 60-minute graduations.

However, the Rolex Submariner Ref. 124060 is a no-date reference and, hence, the most affordable of the lot, with an RRP of £8050.

Stainless Steel Rolex Submariner

The difference between the Submariner Date Ref. 126610LV and the Ref. 126610LN is the bezel colour. The LV (Lunette Verte) model with a black dial and green Cerachrom ceramic bezel has a retail price of £9450,and the LN (Lunette Noir) model with a black dial and black ceramic bezel has a retail price of £9000. So, it’s clear that the Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 126610LV is more expensive than the all-black Submariner.

Reference Retail Price Secondary Market Price
Ref. 124060 £8050 Starting at £9,240
Ref. 126610LV £9450 Starting at £11,540
Ref. 126610LN £9000 Starting at £9,740

As you can see, the pre-owned market prices for the Submariner models are higher than the retail prices. This is because the demand for the stainless steel Sub models far exceeds their availability, leading to demand-driven prices.

2. Gold Submariner Prices

Rolex produces three versions of the gold Submariner – the Ref. 126618LN and Ref. 126618LB in yellow gold and the Submariner Ref. 126619LB in white gold. All these three gold Submariner models have a 41mm 18ct gold Oyster case, 18ct gold Oyster bracelets and bezel with Cerachrom ceramic inserts.

The difference between the Submariner Ref. 126618LB and Ref. 126618LN is the bezel and dial colour. The LB (Lunette Bleu) has a blue dial and a matching blue ceramic bezel with 18ct gold-filled numerals and the LN (Lunette Noir) has a black dial and bezel. The Submariner Ref. 126619LB features a black dial and a blue bezel insert, making it appear unique in comparison to the other gold Submariner models.

Gold Submariner

The different dial/bezel combinations of the yellow gold Submariner don’t impact the prices. However, the white gold Submariner is more expensive than the yellow gold model.

Reference Retail Price Secondary Market Price
Ref. 126618LN £35,500 Starting at £25,550
Ref. 126618LB £35,500 Starting at £29,950
Ref. 126619LB £38,200 Starting at £24,840

Unlike the stainless steel Submariner models, the secondary market prices for gold Submariner watches can be less than the RRP. However, this isn't true for all used gold Submariner models and depends on the specific model, age, and collectability.

3. Two-tone Submariner Prices

As of 2024, there are two-tone Submariner models in production, with the Ref. 126613LN and Ref. 126613LB. These are officially referred to as the Yellow Rolesor models (Rolex watches combining yellow gold and stainless steel on one watch). The Submariner 126613 watches feature 41mm stainless steel case with yellow gold knurled bezel ring, Cerachrom ceramic bezel inserts with yellow gold filled graduations, yellow gold winding crown, and stainless steel Oyster bracelet with yellow gold centre links.

The letters LB and LN denote the dial/bezel colour, with the Submariner Ref. 126613LB for the blue dial and bezel version, and the Ref. 126613LN for the classic black dial and bezel version.

Reference Retail Price Secondary Market Price
Ref. 126613LN £14,200 Starting at £12,800
