By 1900, LeCoultre & Cie had invented more than 350 Calibres, out of which 128 came with chronograph functions. In 1903, French watchmaker Edmond Jaeger invented ultra-thin movements and called for the most skilful watchmakers to develop them. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was launched in the 1930s when polo-playing British Army officers in India proposed a unique challenge to watch dealer Cesar de Trey. He then turned to JLC and his engineer Rene-Alfred Chauvot for help.
